Reasons to go Camping

1. Its inexpensive. After some initial costs like tents and sleeping bags, individual camping trips are very inexpensive. A weekend of camping gives a great vacation but can easily cost less than a hundred dollars. Once you have gear, all you need are reservations (usually around $15 a night) and food. Also, there's almost always a place close by (look around any lake) so you don't have to spend much on gas either.

2. Variety. There are lots of things that you can do while you're camping. Fishing and hiking are very popular but it’s also a good time to play games such as hide and seek, man hunt or even just cards. Or set up camp, and do absolutely nothing (see #4). Also, remember you're not confined to the camping area. You can leave the camping area or park and go see nearby attractions, just make sure your valuables are locked up.

3. Kids really enjoy it. Especially boys, love to get outside and explore. Throw in a big fire at night with roasting marshmallows and any kid will have a good time. Just be sure to remember the bug spray and keep them hydrated!

4. Relax. Camping is the perfect time to get outside and away from the internet, video games, and TV. In fact with out electricity you probably won't have a choice.

5. Get back to nature. It sounds cliché but there's something fun about building your own fire with wood you had to hunt yourself or just being self reliant on what you find around you.
